Jim is the President of Pickard Commercial Group, LTD, a comprehensive full service commercial real estate firm located in Akron, Ohio. He founded the company in April of 2008 after an 18-year career as Executive Vice President with Mogen Real Estate Company.
For over 30 years, Jim has been committed to the commercial real estate industry. Jim’s extensive background includes office and industrial brokerage, design build construction and facilities management, structuring real estate investments, as well as providing agent sales support in the Akron/Cleveland markets.
Jim has been actively involved in the community. He currently serves on the Akron Community Foundation’s board of directors as Treasurer and Finance committee chair, Board of directors for Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens as well as Summit Art Space. His past involvements include serving as Councilman for the Village of Silver Lake where he chaired the Streets and Safety committee. He is past Board Chair and Trustee at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, and has served on the board of directors of Community Support Services, GCEF Foundation, United Disability Services, and has served on allocation panels for the United Way.
He is a graduate of Leadership Akron Class XI and is past chairman of the Akron Area Board of Realtors Commercial Industrial Committee.
Jim obtained his BA degree in Logistic/Operations Management from Michigan State University and an Associate degree in Accounting.
Jim and his wife Leslie, reside in the Village of Silver Lake, Ohio
